Taj Vivanta Food and Stay

Taj Vivanta Food and Stay

Had a stay at Taj Vivanta for the occasion of a friend’s birthday. We booked for an early checkin, but by the time we arrived our room wasn’t ready. The staff is really polite. They apologized for the delay and informed that it might take another 30 to 40 minutes to get the room ready. So, we left our baggage there and decided to roam around in the nearby area. We returned after about 45 minutes, but the room was still not ready. They asked to wait for another 30 minutes. They apologized and offered us to have complimentary snacks and coffee while waiting in their restaurant Viva by Taj Vivanta. We weren’t very hungry, so we decided to grab a small cup of coffee.

Now coming to the room, it was a decent room bouncy comfy bed, a lounge chair, an office table and chair. Around 5 we got a call from the reception telling they would like to send a complimentary Birthday Cake. They sent a kiwi flavored cake. It was way better than I expected. I mean I don’t get much excited about any cakes other than chocolate flavor, but that cake just turned my life. Bascially I have stopped rejecting a non chocolate cake without tasting since that day, seriously so good.

Afterwards, we went for dinner buffet in Viva. The starters served were really good. I didn’t like the chat section very much. It didn’t taste as good as it looked. For main course we tried the Lachha Parathas and Garlic Naan, and some basic gravies, everything was satisfying. But the highlight of the dinner were definitely desserts. They had chocolate Mud Pie in dessert, so they had me there itself, but they also had Pineapple Malpuas, which was quite a unique concept, so I didn’t know what to expect, it turned out pretty good. Although I wasn’t happy with the gajar ka halwa, but honestly in its hard to find a good one in south side, probably its mainly a north Indian dish. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of dinner.

The next morning we went for a bit of swimming so as to make some appetite for breakfast ?. Breakfast at Viva was really good, one of the best breakfast buffets I have had till date. They serve a huge variety and everything was absolutely delicious. Pancakes, sandwiches, chole poori, rawa masala dosa, sambar vada, muffins, donuts etc everything was good. Overall it was a great experience. Hotel staff is very courteous, so far I have stayed in six or seven 5 star hotels, I have gotten best hospitality by Taj Vivanta, staff is so sweet and polite. Mr. Sahil helped us through both breakfast and dinner from serving to providing ordering suggestions. Our stay got even better when we got a late checkout ?.
