Ohris offers many many branches of different themes and cuisines all over Hyderabad. It has a beautiful Mughlai darbar themed ambiance and food menu. Ohris Rubaiyat will always be close to my heart, as this is where I and my boyfriend had our first date. The food and service are really good. Afterward, I have visited the place countless times. We celebrated our college wala far from home Diwali here too.
Coming to food review:
Paneer Lababdar: The gravy of their curries are really thick and so flavorful. This is a classic paneer lababdar, with huge paneer chunks, in a thick onion and tomato gravy.
Kofta Zaartari: It’s not a regular soft kofta curry. The curry is made with Zatar spices, it’s medium spicy, thick gravy with huge pieces of Kofta, filled with corn and paneer. This dish is really heavy. We were two people and with Kofta Zaatari and three chapatis, we were literally full. MUST TRY.
Rogan Josh: MUST TRY for mutton lovers. I personally love rogan josh and Ohris Rubaiyat surely managed to win my heart again with this one. Beautiful gravy and tender meat.
Bagmati Murgh: This dish was suggested by the waiter. Juicy boneless chicken with really thick and spicy gravy. Loved every bit of it.
Khushrang paneer: Didn’t like this dish. The gravy was like water. Plus it felt tasteless. Won’t recommend it.
Iranian Taftoon Nice and something different. Didn’t like za’atar naan very much. It is quite thick, and kind of tasteless, then masala kulcha is really good. MUST TRY. Then if you want to go for the classic, there’s Garlic Naan. The Malai Warqi is another item on the menu you must try. It’s pretty heavy and as the name suggests its sweet.
In desserts, rich chocolate mousse. It isn’t exactly a mousse, it’s more like a chocolate truffle. But taste-wise its pretty good. Comparable to the truffle pastry of Karachi Bakery, which I really like. Another thing about Ohris Rubaiyat is, prices are quite reasonable.
Basundi: Its basically Cardamom flavored condensed milk. The quantity they serve is pretty good. This was the first time I tried Basundi, and I loved it. MUST TRY.
At the end they give Paan shots, they are perfect to end your meal.
